How would people describe you in three words?
Disciplined, Determined and Diligent.
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My mum. She plays an important role in my life and has been my role model of being disciplined and hardworking to provide the best for the family. She took over as the sole breadwinner when my dad had to stay home to take care of my granny. She is a strong-minded person and had taught me to be to be focused in delivering the best in everything I do.
If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
Elephant – it is intelligent, compassionate, has an extremely good memory and lives long.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
To travel to see northern lights around the world e.g. Greenland, Alaska, Iceland; I would love to be able to see the beautiful side of the world.
What is a skill you'd like to learn and why?
To learn how to cook and be able to whip up a sumptuous meal for my family.
If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?
It would be fascinating to be Joseph Schooling on the day he won the Olympic Gold Medal, to experience the thrill and pressure of meeting expectations and even surpassing his idol Michael Phelps.
What do you do on your days off?
Spend family time with wife and children like bringing them out for beach picnic, movies and short trips.
When did you realise that you wanted to be a financial services consultant? What has changed since you first started?
I started my first full time job as a frontline in the bank attending to clients' needs before referring them to the financial services consultant in the bank. Ever since then, I have admired how they are confident and reliable in recommending financial solutions to help those clients.
After two years, I took on the position of financial services consultant in the same bank. Being a familiar face to most walk-in clients, I expected an easy job. However things were not as easy as it seemed, I later realised that it is only through trust and faith that drives advocacy and repeat business.
What has left the biggest impression on you?
When I achieved my first Court of the Table recognition.
From your own experience, define what is it like to be a financial services consultant?
Someone who take cares not only the well-being of their client, but also the well-being of their family members.
Define what being an A-Lister means:
To show consistency, be open to criticism and be able to share.
What makes you different from your peers?
I think I’m really not that different from my peers – we are all able to give good advice to clients and most of all, we serve with our hearts.
How do you define success?
Success comes when I am good at my role, and at the same time, am able to help and to groom fellow colleagues to do likewise.
What’s your philosophy in life?
Always have a positive mind set and the right attitude to life. Do not fear failure and nothing is impossible because IMPOSSIBLE is made up of "I M POSSIBLE"!
What is the best thing about being a Court of the Table member?
The best thing is knowing that you have more clients who trust their financial planning to you and that you play an important role in many peoples' lives.
